01 / OUR BUSINESS

International products.
A local presence.

The people behind our local operations

Founded in Freetown in 2001, Octopus Ventures connects international consumer brands with retail markets in Sierra Leone and Liberia.

With operations centred on Freetown and Monrovia, we handle import, sales and distribution across modern retail, traditional trade and cash-and-carry channels. Our portfolio spans food and beverages, confectionery, snacks, personal care and everyday consumer essentials.

Our local teams support brands with product assortment, in-store visibility and distribution, backed by warehouse and delivery operations. We work with suppliers to translate their commercial priorities into activity at store level, from selecting the right range to getting products onto shelves.

As an independent distributor, we focus on the brands we represent. Our role is to give partners local market knowledge and the commercial support they need to develop their business in Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Our people bring together sales, logistics and administration, connecting the needs of international suppliers with the realities of local trade. We value the relationships behind the business: with brand owners, with retail customers and with the teams who make distribution happen every day.

01

Import & distribution

We connect international supply with local demand through import, sales and distribution. Our commercial teams work across supermarkets, wholesalers, cash-and-carry outlets and neighbourhood retailers, adapting product ranges to the channels they serve.

02

Retail execution

Distribution continues at the shelf. We work on agreed stock lists, product availability, display locations and in-store merchandising to help customers find and choose the brands we represent.

03

Logistics & market support

Warehouse operations and delivery routes support day-to-day distribution. We also provide outsourced logistics and local market advice for partners developing their presence in either market.

03 / OUR APPROACH

Building brands
in the market.

Our work brings together assortment, distribution and visibility. Each plays a part in helping products reach customers.

The right range for each outlet

A supermarket and a neighbourhood shop have different needs. We work with partners on agreed stock lists and channel priorities so that the assortment reflects the outlets being served. Attention to product selection and pricing helps give each range a clear place in the market.

Distribution that reaches the trade

Our routes connect wholesalers, cash-and-carry customers and retailers with the products in our portfolio. We organise sales activity around outlet coverage and local territories, supported by our warehouse and delivery fleet.

Visibility where people shop

We work on product placement, display layouts and merchandising materials to support visibility in store. That means paying attention to how a range appears on the shelf as well as how it gets there.

WORKING ACROSS CHANNELS

Different outlets.
A coordinated approach.

Our distribution model serves modern retail alongside traditional trade. It brings together direct retail relationships, wholesale channels and cash-van distribution, helping brands build a presence across different types of outlet.

We approach each channel with its own assortment and merchandising needs in mind. This local understanding helps international partners plan their market activity with the people who will execute it.

04 / OUR MARKETS

Local presence.
Two markets.

Sierra Leone and Liberia are both part of our distribution business.

Our operations in Freetown and Monrovia bring local market knowledge to the work of international suppliers. We support brands across modern retail and traditional trade, with an approach shaped by the customers, outlets and distribution channels in each country.
